Why did you select your profession?

When I was a junior in college, I heard a recruiter speak to a group of seniors about Teach for America. I was … inspired by the opportunity to play a part as a classroom teacher.

Where do you see yourself professionally in 10 years?

I see myself working with people who are solutions-oriented, inspiring and focused on creating value in our society.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever been given?

The best form of advocacy is excellence in the context of your daily work.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?

Working hard is important, but do more to enjoy life.

What is your favorite escape or hobby?

I love to make dinner, and any kind of athletic activity. As a college sailor, I still appreciate the opportunity to be on the water either as a competitor or helping other athletes participate in the sport.

How do you keep a work-life balance?

I spend quality time with my family, boyfriend and dog. •
