Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney to move to Dorrance Street office

PROVIDENCE – The law firm of Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney LLP has announced it will establish an office in Boston and move to a modernized office suite downtown.
The law firm will move into leased space at 10 Dorrance St., a refurbished 12-story building across from City Hall and a short walk from the state and federal court houses.
The firm previously was located a short distance away, at 123 Dyer St. The move is set for mid-September, according to law firm officials, who announced the relocation in a news release Aug. 23.
Managing Partner Stephen B. Lang explained: “In Providence, we needed a more functional, efficient and modern setting to better serve our business clientele and to accommodate our future growth,” Lang said. “In the process, we wanted to maintain our firm’s longstanding commitment to our capital city.”
The building, called the Westminster Square building, is the same one where GE Digital has located its temporary offices. It is owned by Robert Day LLC, according to state records.
The Boston office for Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney will be at 470 Atlantic Ave., at Independence Wharf, near the historic South Station transportation hub. The office will open Sept. 1.
The company was represented in the real estate transactions by Karl Sherry of Hayes & Sherry, a Cushman & Wakefield affiliate.
