WARREN - Ava Anderson is just like any other high school senior, except that she’s the founder and CEO of her own business, Ava Anderson Non-Toxic.
She launched the all-natural cosmetics company at just 15 after undertaking a personal quest to find “safe” cosmetics that don’t use harmful chemicals.
After trashing most of her mother’s and grandmother’s skin care supplies, Anderson made the decision to create her own products, and with manufacturing contacts through a family friend, began the Warren-based company in 2009.
Anderson will appear on an upcoming episode of PBS’s Biz Kid$, a television series aimed at teaching money management and improving the financial literacy of children and teens.
Her company will be highlighted in the episode “Businesses Going Green,” to explain how environmentally friendly businesses can also be profitable.
The episode airs on WSBE-TV PBS 36 on Saturday, March 24 at 11 a.m.
