PROVIDENCE – A new 66-unit facility for assisted-living and dementia-care apartments, The Highlands on the East Side, has officially opened its doors. The new facility has been reconstructed from its former use as an apartment building.

Apartment features include: kitchenette with comfort height refrigerator/freezer and microwave, 24-hour emergency maintenance and emergency call system, step-in or roll-in showers. Handicapped-accessible apartments are available, according to facility representatives.

The Highlands on the East Side offers a variety of levels of assistance and care, ranging from simple health and wellness services, to more specialized assistance in the Alzheimer’s and dementia-care program. •
