WOONSOCKET – The Hispanic Heritage Foundation and CVS Health again will host the CVS Health LOFT forum for CVS leadership and top Latino students to discuss ways to diversify the health care field and better serve the Latino community.

The program will introduce the students to career opportunities within the health care field, including at CVS.
The event will take place at CVS Health headquarters on Sept. 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
U.S. Sen. Jack F. Reed and Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli will address students along with HHF President and CEO Jose Antonio Tijerino.
“We are inspired and energized to work with our health care partner CVS Health in engaging top-thinking, innovative young minds on how to ensure the health care field looks like the changing population of America,” Tijerino said in a statement. “It’s important we leverage these young, accomplished leaders through their perspective since they are the audience we’re trying to reach and motivate. At the same time, the young leaders will receive invaluable advice and guidance from a leading health care company. I applaud CVS Health for working with HHF to have a thoughtful, two-way dialogue with youth on how to improve the industry – that is true leadership.”
As part of the LOFT (Latinos On Fast Track) Health Care Track, CVS sponsors a Youth Awards Health Care category as high-achieving Latino high school students receive grants for leadership in the classroom and the community, as well their interest in a health-related career. In addition, CVS provides guidance, connectivity and employment opportunities to the LOFT Network, which includes more than 100,000 Latino students and young professionals.
In addition, CVS has developed the CVS LOFT Health Care Fellowship for Latino students to gain experience in the health care field through CVS efforts in the community.
