If you’ve ever seen “Slap Shot,” the 1977 comedy about a failing ice hockey that finds success after resorting to violent tactics, then chances are you remember the Hanson brothers. Saturday, David Hanson, Steve Carlson and Jeff Carlson, will hit the ice at the University of Rhode Island’s Boss Ice Arena to take part in a charity hockey game to benefit the World War II Foundation. The trio will join URI hockey alums as they face off against skaters of the Fire Department of New York. Following the game, they will sign autographs and take photos with fans. Those who attend can also stick around to watch as the URI’s men’s hockey team takes on Niagara University.
