Home & Hospice Care sees Family Night success

PROVIDENCE – Ticket sales topped 250 at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island’s annual Family Night at McCoy Stadium on July 29.
The funds raised – $3,861 – will support Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island’s free care program. This program provides direct free hospice care to any Rhode Islander regardless of their ability to pay, according to the website.
Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, the major teaching affiliate for hospice and palliative medicine of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, is the largest hospice in Rhode Island and the second oldest in the nation.
Guests enjoyed an all-you-can-eat barbeque, player autographs and a raffle drawing before the game. Six-year-old Jaime Lyn Pickering threw the ceremonial first pitch, followed by 13-year-old Parker Fortin and 11-year-old Bennett Fortin announcing the start of the game with a jovial “play ball!”
The Norfolk Tides shut out the Pawtucket Red Sox, 2-0.
