Posted 10/8/12

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island Housing has awarded a two-year contract to Homefront Health Care, a nonprofit home health agency, to provide home care at elderly housing complexes throughout the state.

Under the two-year, $494,000 contract, Homefront will provide home health aides and homemaker services to approximately 150 elders living in 16 complexes.

“This is part of Rhode Island Housing’s program to assist residents to age in place,” said Bob Caffrey, Homefront president and CEO. “It is a partnership between Rhode Island Housing, development owners and the residents and is designed to fill the gaps left by other programs.”0

The services are paid for by the development owners and the residents, and are designed to allow the residents to live independently as long as possible. The facilities are located in Cumberland, Smithfield, North Smithfield, Wakefield, Portsmouth, Warwick, Providence, East Greenwich, Warwick, Cranston, Pawtucket and North Kingstown.
