How good do you feel about Rhode Island?

Rhode Island was showered with accolades last week, from having Providence be named America’s most “exciting” mid-sized city by Movoto Real Estate to having the Capital City ranked as the No 2 most “livable” downtown in the United States, according to Livability.com, to having 10 Ocean State chefs named to the list of Coastal New England Rising Star Awards list of 27.

Of course, the fact that the state has the highest unemployment rate in the nation could put a damper on all that feel-good news. The question is, does it do that to you? Are you a glass half-full or half-empty kind of person?

Connect the dots if you will: Recent Nat'l data has RI as one of the least "Small Business Friendly" in the USA, top 10% of the worst places to retire, #47 for taxes, Highest unemployment, and not to mention our Nat'l reputation for what we see and hear from our elected officials from the state capitol. Some more Nat'l statistics: Providence and New Bedford are tied for #100, of 100, of the least biblically minded cities in the USA. We are the lowest declared Christian population in the country with among the lowest % of adults attending church and among the highest per capita of abortions in the country. So, you may not think this is related? Sounds like I may be reaching...? Then why would the same data also be true at the opposite end of the same statistics? The best cities and states for business friendly, taxes, lowest unemployment etc. are also sitting among the TOP 10% of these same list. They are among the most biblically minded, highest faith base, highest populations of Christians and church attenders. Just sharing back information that we have all seen and hoping that others may connect the dots as well. Do you?
