How important are town hall forums about health care reform?

The summer recess for many members of Congress has not been a time to relax. Town hall meetings across the country have been disrupted by attendees shouting down representatives and senators, especially when the discussions turn to health care reform.

In a nation grappling with a health care system that is out of control, is this forum a useful part of the process of moving reform forward? How would you approach your elected officials at such a meeting?
