Hsu appointed vice provost at JWU

PROVIDENCE – Lily S. Hsu has been appointed vice provost of Johnson & Wales University, and will begin her new role on June 29.
Johnson & Wales University President Mim L. Runey said in a statement that Hsu will work closely with Provost Tom Dwyer to help advance program development and delivery, promote service among the faculty and “ensure that the goals of the university’s curriculum are reflected in student learning outcomes.”
“Her extensive experience in higher education administration will help fulfill the university’s transformation that began with our previous strategic plan launched in 2006,” Runey said.
Since 2007, Hsu has worked for the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, serving most recently as associate provost for academic and professional affairs.
Prior to being appointed associate provost, she was interim dean for the college’s School of Medical Imaging and Therapeutics, School of Physician Studies and the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene.
From 1993 through 2007, Hsu served as dean for Massachusetts Bay Community College programs, including health, human services and education; and nursing and health professions.

Hsu, of Framingham, Mass., earned her doctor of education in health and behavior studies from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York.
She also is a site reviewer for the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Inc.
