PROVIDENCE – International Game Technology PLC’s subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corp., has inked a new contract with the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission following a competitive procurement.
The gaming company said Monday that it will provide a new central gaming system, terminal software applications and an integrated Internet website to display lottery information. IGT said it also will work with the lottery to improve its Internet presence and enhance customer relationship management.

it modernizes and positions itself for future growth in an ever-evolving environment,”
Jay Gendron, IGT senior vice president, WLA North America Lottery, said in a statement. “With this latest technology, we hope to assist the lottery in achieving even greater efficiency and success in the years ahead.”

The Massachusetts Lottery generated record sales of $5.234 billion in fiscal 2016 and ranks No. 1 in the world in per capita sales.

IGT provided the lottery’s existing central gaming system and lottery terminals in 1996. In the years since, it has installed self-service vending machines. It also prints a portion of the lottery’s instant tickets.

The company said it will provide project management and system integration responsibilities for all aspects of the lottery’s gaming system conversion; it will convert the lottery’s existing central gaming and back-office systems to IGT’s latest systems solutions.

IGT”s contract with the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission is for five years. The lottery has the option to extend for two additional one-year periods.
