Why did you select your profession?

I think my profession really selected me. I have always been fascinated by the intersection of communication and policymaking.

Where do you see yourself professionally in 10 years?

Working in a job where success will be measured not by how much money you make, but instead by how much of a difference you make in the lives of the people you serve.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever been given?

Do what you love and the rest will take care of itself.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?

Don’t be obsessed with the next step in your career path. [Enjoy] the job you have today, because if you do a good job, additional opportunities will present themselves.

What is your favorite escape or hobby?

Playing with my 2-year-old son.

How do you keep a work-life balance?

Frankly, with my job, going to school for my MBA, and my other commitments, I probably don’t do as good a job as I should. •
