Last week Providence Business News held its third Fastest-Growing & Innovative Companies celebration at Rosecliff mansion in Newport.
It was, as it always is, a great party. But the lasting effects of the program will not be the stunning ocean views or the afterglow of spending time in Rosecliff, one of Newport’s Gilded Age mansions.
Rather, the most important takeaway will be the recognition of the amazing things going on in the region.
For example, the Center for Dynamic Learning doesn’t just take an out-of-the-box approach to supplemental-learning opportunities. There isn’t a box made that could pigeonhole the center’s program to introduce children to manufacturing and their maker selves, among many other things.
The center takes the STEAM movement to heart, by giving children the opportunities to build things or put on plays, all the while connecting the dots that make up science, technology, engineering, arts and math to the real world. It is a fresh approach that deserves to be more than a modest, if vibrant, program in a small corner of Rhode Island.
