WARWICK – Michael Integlia & Co. has purchased the Elizabeth Mill Building, part of the former Leviton property on Jefferson Boulevard, and will announce plans to redevelop it at an event with Warwick and state officials Wednesday morning, company President Michael Integlia Jr. said Friday.

As part of Leviton’s sale of the property, Dean Warehousing Services Inc. announced it has purchased the 635,000-square-foot Leviton warehouse attached to the Elizabeth Mill, which it had been leasing, and 32 acres of the 85 acre property.

Bradford A. Dean, CEO of Dean Warehousing, said his company would continue to use the 635,000-square-foot warehouse as a distribution center.

Integlia said he had acquired the property near T.F. Green Airport Oct. 1, but declined to discuss any further details of his plans until next week, including whether he will preserve all or part of the landmark 19th-century Elizabeth Mill Building.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

R.I. Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee and Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian will join Integlia at the Wednesday announcement to unveil plans for the property and the larger Warwick Station District area it sits within.

Integlia said he had worked “in harmony” with city and state officials to acquire the property as part of a “public-private partnership to secure a development opportunity for expansion of commercial real estate in the Station District.”

A New York based international electronics and wiring company, Leviton left the complex at 745 Jefferson Blvd., which includes the Elizabeth Mill and number of newer additions, in 2005.

The company has been looking to sell the property, and last year Warwick officials stepped in to try to save the original mid-1800s mill building after a prospective buyer announced plans to raze it.

Located across the street from the state’s $267 million Interlink train station and parking garage, the Leviton property is a key piece of plans to develop the Station District into a 1.5-million–square-foot mixed-use “urban village” of offices, stores, restaurants and apartments.

The announcement on Wednesday will be at 9 a.m. inside the Elizabeth Mill.
