Internet Innovation Alliance has R.I. chapter

PROVIDENCE – A Rhode Island chapter of the Internet Innovation Alliance was formed Nov. 16.
The alliance is a national coalition of business and nonprofit organizations “committed to helping our country achieve universal broadband,” a news release said.
It currently has four members locally: Urban Ventures, the Rhode Island Farm Bureau, Nalari Health and the Community Provider Network of Rhode Island.
“We joined IIA Rhode Island because of how critical broadband Internet is to the delivery of healthcare,” said Mark Treat, president of Nalari Health, an online health care company. “Broadband provides critical access and applications that can improve health and quality of outcomes while reducing costs.”
