Graduating from URI with an accounting degree, I worked in finance right out of college but always knew that I wanted to break into the fashion industry, specifically into marketing. In 2009 I was living in New York City and was laid off from my job due to the recession and started working for Alex and Ani out of [its] Manhattan showroom in PR/sales. As the company evolved, we developed a marketing department. Five years later, I am vice president of marketing.
