Izzy Foundation hosting fundraiser

PROVIDENCE – The Izzy Foundation, a Providence nonprofit seeking to provide services and support to families with children who have debilitating diseases, will host its second annual Fab Fest, a wine tasting and casino night fundraiser, at Roger Williams Park Casino on Saturday, Feb. 2.

The foundation originally was created to help offset the costs of a stem-cell transplant in Germany for Isabelle Marie Wohlrab, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the muscles, two weeks after her first birthday. Wohlrab died last March at age 3.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward furnishing a family room on the 5th floor of Hasbro Children’s Hospital, which the foundation pledged $120,000 to designing and building from funds raised at its ‘Paint Providence Purple’ gala last September.

The casino night will include catering from Pranzi catering and wines from the United States, Italy, France, and Argentina.
