JWU to unveil lab for criminal justice studies

PROVIDENCE – Johnson & Wales University will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new criminal justice lab on Nov. 10 at 10:30 a.m.

The lab, located in the TACO Center at 10 Abbott Park Place, is part of the John Hazen White College of Arts & Sciences.

The new space features a re-enactment room where students can observe a “crime scene,” and gather evidence for analysis. The lab contains forensic microscopes and 20 work stations.

The new facility will support students taking criminalistics classes. The cost of the refitted area, including equipment, was $650,000. •
