This project provided extensive renovations to the Johnson & Wales University Harbor View hospitality center in Cranston. The two-story facility is the meeting and dining structure attached to a university dormitory. In the work on the assembly space, Robinson Green Beretta created a design that gutted the dated, multilevel function-room areas and created a single-floor design with new “curtain walls” of insulated glass, providing a view of Narragansett Bay, according to RGB Project Manager Tracey Donnelly. An outdoor area now features a three-season patio with seating and gathering areas for students. The student-dining facility, below the function room, has a new serving area and remodeled kitchens. The 220-seat Rhode Island Room, used exclusively for university functions, has new walls and lighting and improved technology.
