Since my time as an undergrad at the University of Florida studying political science and public relations, I’ve been fascinated with media and politics, and being a media lawyer lets me play in both areas.
Where do you see yourself professionally in 10 years?
I would like to be the general counsel of a media and technology company, but who knows what such a company will look like in 10 years.
What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
Never say “no,” but rather say “Well, how about we do it this way instead?”
What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?
Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.
What is your favorite Rhode Island escape or hobby?
The escape that comes from a cup of Del’s has no bounds.
What one thing in your professional life would you like a do-over on?
I would have focused more on my business and financial knowledge earlier. Being a good lawyer requires more than understanding the law; you also need to understand your client’s business.
