KITE Architects lauded for ‘Best Remodel’

PROVIDENCE – KITE Architects recently announced that its renovation of a Prospect Street residence in Providence has been awarded “Best Remodel” in the Marvin Windows and Doors Architects Challenge 2016.
The work was supervised by Principal Albert Garcia.
The announcement was made recently at the American Institute of Architects convention in Philadelphia.
The residential project involved the interior and exterior upgrading of a contemporary 1970s era house. The primary design focus was to visually and spatially transform the formerly reclusive building and landscape, according to KITE Architects, in a news release.
In a judge’s comments: “The remodel takes a tired and dated existing home and transforms it into an edgy, contemporary winner. The open ceiling and two dramatic window walls allow light to cascade into the home as it plays off the white walls and wood floors, creating a museum-like quality to the space.”
