KVH announces office opening in Tokyo

MIDDLETOWN – KVH Industries Inc. has opened an office in Tokyo to help support an expanding customer base in the region.
The company said that the opening of KVH Industries Japan Co. Ltd. will allow it to strengthen its position in the market as well as provide additional support to its Japanese partners.
KVH’s Japanese partners include SKY Perfect JSAT Corp., which provides KVH’s mini-VSAT Broadband service under the OceanBB brand name, as well as Furuno Electric Co. Ltd. and Japan Radio Co. Ltd., both of which provide and install KVH TracPhone communications systems.
The company has named Yoshito Yamane as the country manager and representative director of the Japanese office. According to a release, Yamane has collaborated with KVH Industries for the past three years as a sales consultant, working to develop relationships with KVH’s partners in the area.
“We are extremely excited about opening our KVH Japan office, which represents a significant step forward in enabling further market penetration for our services and products in Japan,” Brent C. Bruun, senior vice president of global sales and business development at KVH, said in a statement. •
