KVH more than doubles Asia-Pacific network capacity

MIDDLETOWN – Satellite services manufacturer KVH Industries has more than doubled its mini-VSAT broadband network capacity in the Asia-Pacific region, the company announced.

The expansion is part of an ongoing plan to expand KVH’s satellite phone services worldwide.

The company is expanding its broadband network to help market its latest line of broadband satellite phones and services, the TracPhone V-IP series, aimed at mariners who cannot get cell phone service while at sea.

“This area is a major hub for commercial shipping and the vessels travelling there need affordable, fast, and convenient connections in order to optimize their operations,” said Brent Brunn, executive vice president of KVH’s mobile broadband group, in a statement on the Asia-Pacific expansion.
