Kane steps down as I-195 board chairman

PROVIDENCE – Colin P. Kane, chairman of the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission, offered his resignation to Gov. Gina M. Raimondo, who has accepted it, according to a statement last month from the governor’s office.
Kane, a founding partner at The Peregrine Group LLC, a real estate development and management company based in East Providence, will remain on the commission until a successor is named, according to the governor’s spokeswoman, Marie Aberger.
He was the founding chairman of the redevelopment commission, which is overseeing the marketing and sale of the 19 developable acres in Providence that once lay below Interstate 195, and which became available following the relocation of the highway.
“The governor is grateful for Colin’s dedicated service to the people of Rhode Island which helped lay the groundwork for this project,” Aberger said. •
