Why did you select your profession?
As an entrepreneur, I was responsible [early in my career] for … essentially everything except for the company’s technology. That gave me the amazing opportunity … to seek the best fit. For me, the answer was operations/finance/accounting – and … my current role at GTECH involves all three.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever been given?
Always tackle the difficult or least-fun work at the beginning of the day, and save the rest for later, because it makes work less stressful.
What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?
Time is your most precious asset.
What is your favorite Rhode Island escape or hobby?
At home, I busy myself with bees – I should have over 100,000 in my backyard by the end of summer.
What one thing in your professional life would you like a do-over on?
I would take a gap year after college in order to experience many different countries and cultures at a young age. •
