KeepSpace releases Pawtucket, C.F. plan

PAWTUCKET – A comprehensive community design plan for Pawtucket and Central Falls, put together over several years of work by a group of community stakeholders, has been released by Rhode Island Housing initiative KeepSpace.
The 48-page plan makes recommendations on infrastructure, public transportation, and redevelopment objectives developed over a series of public outreach sessions that started in 2009.
“The strategies outlined in this plan will help guide future growth, revitalization, preservation, community and economic development, all of which will have an impact on our neighborhoods,” said Nancy Whit, executive director of Pawtucket Citizens Development Corp., the community sponsor of the plan. “These strategies are intended as a roadmap on how residents, businesses, community groups, local nonprofits, government and state agencies can work together to turn Pawtucket/Central Falls into a well-planned, great place to live, work and play.”
The Pawtucket/Central Falls plan is the first of four community design plans being put together by KeepSpace. The other three will be for Cranston, Westerly and the Olneyville section of Providence.
