Kent Breast Health Center receives accreditation

WARWICK – The Breast Health Center at Kent Hospital has achieved its three-year accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, a group of professional organizations dedicated to the improvement of the quality of care, hospital officials said.
Accreditation is granted only to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the best in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment and is able to comply with established standards, according to hospital officials. To maintain accreditation, centers must undergo an on-site review every three years.
“This accreditation is a great accomplishment for The Breast Health Center at Kent and proves our commitment to the quality care we provide our patients on a daily basis,” said Dr. Candace Dyer, director of The Breast Health Center at Kent.
The center is a unique collaboration with Woman & Infants Hospital that ensures comprehensive breast care to the women of our community, according to Dyer. The center provides a comprehensive array of services, including: mammography, ultrasound, needle biopsies of the breast and breast MRI; clinical evaluation and treatment; fertility counseling, genetic counseling; social services; nutrition consultation and support groups.
