WARWICK – Kent Hospital reported $3.2 million in operating income for fiscal year 2011, an increase of $1 million from the previous year, at its annual meeting held on Dec. 7 at Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown.
At the meeting, Sandra L. Coletta, Kent Hospital’s president and CEO, praised the changes made at the hospital’s Emergency Department over the past year, including the fact that Kent is the first and only hospital in Rhode Island to implement a policy of no diversion of ambulances
Also at the meeting, as a Care New England hospital, Kent noted the retirement of Care New England’s former president and CEO, John J. Hynes, while welcoming new president and CEO, Dennis D. Keefe.
“Kent Hospital has made significant accomplishments in the past year and with hard work and dedication we continue to grow and better serve our patients and community with the highest quality care,” said Coletta.
Total revenue for Kent Hospital in FY 2011 was $315,302,166, including $299,788,244 in net patient service revenue. Total operating expenses were $312,0908,467, resulting in a net income from operations of $3,203,699.
Kent Hospital reported $13.9 million in charity care during FY 2011, along with 15,743 inpatient admissions, 83,775 inpatient days, 57,758 Emergency Department visits, and 1,087 births.
