Kent welcomes new chief nursing officer

WARWICK – Rebecca L. Burke has become senior vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Kent Hospital. Burke comes to Kent from St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Conn., where she served as senior vice president of clinical services and chief nursing officer for three years. She replaces Rene Fischer who is retiring.

Prior to moving to Hartford, Burke served as senior vice president, chief nursing officer and chief operating officer at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, from 2009-2010 and senior vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer from 1999-2010. Burke served as the director of inpatient and emergency nursing services, and ambulatory services at Lifespan Academic Medical Center for ten years. Burke also served as a nurse manager at Lifespan, where she implemented and managed their cardiovascular telemetry unit.
