Kohl’s celebrates giving to Hasbro Children’s

The Kohl’s Cares merchandise program has raised more than $1.3 million for Hasbro Children’s Hospital over the past 10 years.
Alongside the company’s financial contributions, the Kohl’s Cares Kids on the Go initiative hosted more than 80 community events to promote car-seat safety in Rhode Island last year. During these events, hospital representatives and other volunteers inspected 2,479 car seats, and the hospital found that more than 1,000 car seats were incorrectly used to some degree.
Some of the funds granted from Kohl’s also allowed the hospital to offer more than 1,600 car seats to families with low incomes. Parents who received the car seats were also educated on how to properly install the seat into their vehicle, as well as adjust the safety harness as their child grows.
The Kohl’s Care merchandise program sells a selection of $5 children’s books and plush toys and donates 100 percent of the profits to organizations across the nation that promote children’s health and education. The merchandise program has raised more than $257 million for organizations nationwide. •
