Kopin awarded $23.2M production contract

TAUNTON – Kopin Corp., a manufacturer of display systems for mobile-consumer and military applications, has been awarded $23.2 million in production orders for display systems for the U.S. Army’s Thermal Weapon Sight Bridge program.
The orders will support the continued production requirements for light, medium, and heavy thermal weapon sights in the program for a broad array of weapons.
Kopin in June said its display products are based on the company’s patented low-power CyberDisplay 640M display. The company said the displays are provided with controller electronics and lens assemblies that optimize overall system performance.
“These follow-on orders call for the delivery of display modules and complete eyepiece assemblies beginning late this quarter and continuing over the next 12 months,” said Michael Presz, the company’s vice president of government programs. “The proven performance, reliability and low life-cycle costs of our display products when subjected to the rugged environments of the battlefield are unsurpassed.” &#8226
