Friday, ice skaters at the Newport Skating Center can glide to the grooves of DJ Sam LoPiccolo during this week’s DJ Skate Night. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., LoPiccolo, 15, will spin classic tunes and take requests. For those looking to hang out with an older crowd, adult skate, an 18-plus session, will be held from 9 to 11 p.m. During all sessions, the skating center will accept donations of new and gently used coats to benefit Newport families in need. Those who donate will receive a two-for-one admission voucher that can be used anytime during the season.
