Land Trust to host Steel Yard event

PROVIDENCE – The Southside Community Land Trust, a nonprofit that provides resources to help Providence area residents to grow food in environmentally sustainable practices, will hold a fundraiser on Oct. 17 at The Steel Yard in Providence.

The Harvesting Hope event is meant to celebrate the organization and “toast to a deeper commitment to growing food everywhere” according to a statement.

The event will include cocktails and food truck hors d’oeuvres as well as goodie bag containing autumnal produce grown by members of the organization’s Providence Community Growers Network.

There also will be testimonials and a ‘Build a Garden’ fundraiser.

Food trucks will include Chez Pascal’s Hewtin Dogs Mobile Food Truck, Mijos Tacos and Like No Udder.

Tickets are $50 or $125 for patron tickets. Proceeds will benefit the organization’s core program activities including expansion of the grower’s network.
