A Lapels dry cleaning store in Lincoln recently collected 600 pounds of clothing to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The Lincoln location joined 17 other Lapels stores and plants, all of which were located in Massachusetts, to collect a total of 4,073 pounds of clothing.
Though it was the only store in Rhode Island to participate, the Lincoln store made the biggest contribution of all 18 participating stores.
“Rhode Island may be the smallest state in the union, but this clothing drive shows how Lapels customers care about helping out fellow Ocean Staters,” said Laura LoBreglio, customer service manager of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State.
LoBreglio said her organization is grateful for all of the contributions collected during the drive, which ran from May 5 through May 20.
“Our Massachusetts stores and our Lincoln, Rhode Island location really stepped it up for this clothing drive,” said Kevin Dubois, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning. “Lapels prides itself on being environmentally friendly. A part of that is giving back to the communities we serve. We’re grateful to have a customer base that shares that spirit of giving.” •
