Why did you select your profession? I feel my purpose is to improve the lives of others. I see an untapped potential of synergy of meaningful work for people and the bottom line business-improvement companies can achieve from engaged employees. At Preventure, I get to contribute to better workplaces and better bottom lines, which improve the lives of many every day.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received? The purpose of communication is not about being understood – it is understanding others. Nearly every relationship and business deal I’ve enjoyed over my career has been based on taking the time to really understand the person and their problem.

What is your favorite Rhode Island escape or hobby? Being on our little boat in the middle of Charlestown pond. Nothing is as wonderful as salt water and silence. •
