PROVIDENCE – Rob Levine & Associates, a personal injury law firm, is offering free car rides in Providence and Newport as part of a marketing effort.
A company spokeswoman said that Levine purchased two Kia Souls and has hired four drivers for the program.
The cars have been outfitted with a Rob Levine & Associates “wrap” advertisement and a roof sign that says “Stop Me for a Free Ride.”
Tuni Schartner, a spokeswoman for the law firm, described it as a “fun, goodwill program” that Levine got the idea for when he was in Florida over the winter and saw something similar.
She said the rides began Tuesday in Providence. They hope that social media will help spread the word about the program. The cars will be in Providence today and Thursday, and will be in Newport on Friday. The firm has not yet determined how long it will maintain the program, but Levine said it will just run in Newport during the summer.
Today, the cars will be in downtown Providence until 3 p.m. in the areas of Dorrance, Exchange, Empire, Friendship, Washington, Westminster and Weybosset streets. Between 3-4 p.m., they will be near the Elmwood Avenue Farmers Market, and then in the area of Federal Hill, focusing on Atwells Avenue restaurants.
Levine said the rides will be offered seven days a week. He described it as a way to give back to the community.
The law firm also handles veterans disability and social security disability.
