Lawyers join Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP

PROVIDENCE – Four lawyers from the Morrison Mahoney LLP Providence law offices have joined the Los Angeles-based firm Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP at 1 Turks Head Place.
The attorneys left Morrison Mahoney, which has corporate offices in Boston, New York City and London, for Lewis Brisbois on June 18 because the latter has a national as opposed to a regional scope that “gave us a broader client base,” said managing partner Lauren Motola Davis.
Lewis Brisbois has 34 offices in 20 states and the District of Columbia, according to its website.
Davis, who had been with Morrison Mahoney for 25½ years, said she and three other attorneys will focus on insurance defense, workers compensation, admiralty law issues involving water bodies, general liability and employment law.
The other attorneys joining her at Lewis Brisbois include partner Jeffrey Liptrot, who had been at Morrison Mahoney for 21 years, partner Christopher Fiore, who had been with the previous firm 20 years, and associate Patrick Cannon, who had been with Morrison Mahoney for four years.
Monica R. Nelson, an associate with Lewis Brisbois for the past two years, is also in the Providence office, Davis said.
Morrison Mahoney Liaison Partner Mark Nugent confirmed that some attorneys had left the company but did not elaborate and declined further comment. The firm focuses on trial and business law, according to its website.
