Leadership Rhode Island Announces 2011 Award Honorees

Providence, RI (February, 22, 2011) – Leadership Rhode Island’s Inspiring Leaders Awards Luncheon will occur on March 17th from 11:30am-1:30pm at the Providence Marriott (One Orms St). At that time, the following individuals will be honored for their demonstrated leadership and commitment to Rhode Island:
· David E. Sweet Award: Dr. Irving Schneider (LRI ’96), President, Johnson & Wales University
· RI Community Service Award: Eileen Hayes, Executive Director, Amos House
· LRI Volunteer Award: John Wm. Thompson (LRI ’87), Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer, J. W. Thompson Investments
· Emerging Leader Award: Manuel Ortiz, Student, Providence College
· Special Recognition – In Memoriam: Joe Fernandez (LRI ’00) and Ivy Locke (LRI ’08)
"Rhode Island would not be what it is today without the extraordinary accomplishments of these talented leaders,” says Mike Ritz, Executive Director, Leadership Rhode Island.
The Inspiring Leaders Luncheon is open to the public. Tickets are $55 for alumni and $65 for non-members.
