PROVIDENCE – A “History of North Benefit Street” lecture will be held at 6 p.m. on May 24, hosted by architectural historian Mack Woodward.
He will discuss the architecture and history of Benefit Street, one of Providence’s most notable streets. The talk will include the area’s earlier development as well as the decline of the street, and subsequent preservation in the 20th century.
The talk is at Barker Playhouse, 400 Benefit St.
Tickets are free for Providence Preservation Society members and $10 for nonmembers.
