Lifespan to host health care forums throughout R.I.

PROVIDENCE – The Lifespan Community Health Institute has scheduled a series of health forums throughout the state. Designed to allow residents to share their health concerns with Lifespan, the forums will enable Lifespan to collect information for its Community Health Needs Assessment, which is an Affordable Care Act requirement. According to a Lifespan statement, the hospital system has hired 16 part-time community liaisons to organize and facilitate the forums. Bradley, Newport, Rhode Island and The Miriam hospitals will each hold geographically accessible two-hour forums.

“The liaisons are the eyes and ears of their communities and they are playing a critical role in making this a meaningful program,” Carrie Bridges Feliz, director of the Lifespan Community Health Institute, said in a statement.

Free parking and refreshments will be available at the forums; upon request, child care and interpreters are available. For more information, contact Feliz at (401) 444-8009 or cbridgesfeliz@lifespan.org. A full schedule of forums is available at www.lifespan.org/our-community/forums/.
