Lightower expands network in Providence

PROVIDENCE – Lightower Fiber Networks, headquartered in Boxborough, Mass., announced a new expansion in Providence.
The metro fiber and bandwidth provider has doubled the size of its collocation facility in The Foundry and is adding 21 miles of new fiber to its East Providence network.
The expansion extends Lightower’s reach throughout East Providence, Seekonk and Pawtucket.
“These two expansions in Providence demonstrate how enterprises and carriers throughout the Northeast have a continuing need for more and more fast bandwidth,” Rob Shanahan, president and CEO of Lightower said in prepared remarks.
“The Lightower Network offers customers virtually limitless, low latency bandwidth and we will continue to invest where we see this kind of demand,” added Shanahan. “In addition, our expanded collocation facility in Providence offers customers more space to house their equipment while also connecting to the Lightower Network.”
