Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk recently presented an $8,500 check to the Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Fund, exceeding its initial fundraising goal.

The donation was guided by the efforts of Scott Birtles, general manager of the dealership. Birtles, who became the first individual fundraiser for the cause, aimed to raise $5,000 through donations based on sales of extended warranty or auto-related products.

“We are enormously grateful to Scott Birtles and Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk for their support,” said Louise Dinsmore, Heart & Hope Fund executive director. “Scott took it upon himself to personally champion our mission, putting all of his resources behind it to leverage additional support. Support of this magnitude enables us to do more for all the families in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts who are going through this. We are a local charity and every donation makes a big impact. ”

The Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which provides support to children and families living in the area who are impacted by congenital heart disease, heart defects and severe feeding issues. •
