MEDfx named eClaims technology provider in Michigan

WARWICK – The Michigan Health Information Network has selected MEDfx Corp. as its Social Security Administration disability eClaims technology provider for the public/private health information exchange.
MEDfx will be used by Health Information Network in the state-wide system that facilitates the transmission of medical records for disability claims.
According to a company release, the electronic network ultimately lowers costs and secures confidentiality as health information is transmitted between the Social Security Administration and health care institutions.
The MEDfx eHealth gateway allows hospitals and other Health Information Network stakeholders to connect to the national system and Social Security Administration in order to transfer data.
MEDfx boasts benefits of its software, including: increased quality of service, greater revenues, as well as greater return on investment for the organization’s health information exchange system.
“The ability to transmit disability claims information electronically will be of immense benefit to [Michigan Health Information N etwork] participants,” MEDfx CEO Colin Berry said in prepared remarks. “We expect our eHealth Exchange … will bring a new era of efficiency and quality to those physicians, insurers, facilities and institutions who take part in the [Michigan Health Information Network’s] HIE system.”
