PAWTUCKET – The state’s new tourism campaign is coming to the Blackstone Valley later this month so Rhode Islanders can continue to make it their own.
On May 25, Epic Decade, which the R.I. Commerce Corp. has put in charge of the campaign after a botched rollout in late March, will host an Inspired Conversation Series, followed by a “roadshow edition” of the “Make It Yours” public engagement program.
The event begins at 3 p.m. at Slater Mill on Roosevelt Avenue with a “conversation” featuring Morgwn Rimel, a book publisher, filmmaker, television producer and festival organizer, as well as Ricardo Pitts-Wiley, co-founder of the nonprofit arts organization Mixed Magic Theatre & Cultural Events. Wiley is also known for his work as an actor and director.
They will discuss “the space where learning meets immersive experiences,” according to information about the event from Epic Decade. After the conversation, the group will move across the street to the Blackstone Valley Visitors Center starting at 5 p.m. for the “Make It Yours” program. There residents can share their stories about Rhode Island and the Blackstone Valley.
The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Registration is available HERE.
