Make A Wish Trailblaze Challenge to be held first weekend in October

SAVOY, Mass. – Residents of Massachusetts and Rhode Island 18 years or older are encouraged to register for the Make A Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island’s Trailblaze Challenge on the weekend of Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 at Savoy Mountain State Forest in western Massachusetts.

On Friday, Sept. 30, a pasta party will be held prior to the hike day on Saturday. The weekend will conclude with a victory breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Trailblaze Challenge, in which participants will hike 30 miles of the Mahican-Mohawk Trail in one day, was designed by Make A Wish as an endurance journey. It is open to all levels of outdoors enthusiasts. Interested participants can register HERE for a fee of $100 and are required to raise a minimum of $2,500 for the cause. In return participants will be provided with a personal fundraising webpage, hotel accommodations on the event weekend and a Trailblaze Challenge T-shirt.

Proceeds raised by the event will go to Make A Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
