Managing partner of Edwards Wildman Palmer steps down

BOSTON – Walter Reed, managing partner of Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, will step down from his leadership role and will return to full-time law practice, the Boston Business Journal reported Monday.

Reed will leave his role during the first quarter of 2012 for “personal and health reasons” the BBJ said.

The law firm - the result of a merger between firms Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP and Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon LLP - has 650 lawyers and 13 offices, including Providence.

“Reed has been a valued member of our firm for over 30 years, most recently serving as its managing partner. [He] will continue to serve as the managing partner of Edwards Wildman until spring to lead the firm as it capitalizes on the momentum from the recent merger … and to facilitate a smooth transition of leadership to his successor,” a firm spokesman said to the BBJ.

The publication also noted that in November “a team of attorneys and professionals left Edwards Wildman to work at crosstown law firm Nixon Peabody LLP.”
