MassDevelopment bond helps Fairhaven group expand

FAIRHAVEN – The Nemasket Group, a Fairhaven organization which aids families and individuals with disabilities, has been able to expand its administrative, meeting and training space through a $1.725 million MassDevelopment bond.

Marty Jones, MassDevelopment president and CEO, said: “This bond will allow The Nemasket Group to grow its resources and expand its operations in Bristol County…We are proud to support the organization’s ongoing efforts to assist and advocate for individuals living with disabilities, their families and their communities.”

Bay Coast Bank purchased the bond and the organization will use bond proceeds to purchase, renovate and furnish the new space at the Pines Condominiums on Fairhaven Road in Mattapoisett. In addition, The Nemasket Group will use funds to refinance previous bank debt incurred when it acquired and renovated two community residences.

Dustin Green, executive director of the The Nemasket Group, said this was an exciting time for the organization.
