McDonald House donates to McAuley Village

PROVIDENCE – McAuley Village, a Providence-based transitional housing program for homeless single parents and children, received a $12,000 donation check from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England during the grand reopening of the McDonalds in Trinity Square on July 31.

The funds will be used to help expand and refurbish the pre-school section of the McAuley Village Learning Center.

The McDonalds in Trinity Square was refurbished to include a modern features, contemporary décor, flat screen TVs and free Wi-Fi for patrons.

The reopening celebration included food giveaways and the ability to enter for drawing for a Kindle, a mountain bike, and a child’s bike taking place on Aug. 31.

Charitable festivities continued on Aug. 1 with Molar Express, a traveling mobile dental care unit that provided free dental care to visitors.
