MIDDLETOWN – A task order with a potential value of $6.35 million over the next five years was recently awarded by the U.S. Navy to McLaughlin Research Corp. for technical and engineering support services at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport Division.
MRC will provide installation, maintenance and operational support services for test facilities in the Launcher Facility Complex in Newport, as well as in-service technical and engineering services at other sites.
“We are very gratified by this award,” MRC president Jim Bouthillier said in a statement. “It reflects the Launcher Systems and Payload Integration Division’s ongoing confidence in our dedicated employees’ ability to continue providing the exceptional level of critical Fleet support services that MRC has been providing to NUWC Newport since 1981.”
Incorporated in 1947, MRC employs approximately 350 personnel at sites across the U.S.
Earlier this year, McLaughlin, which has offices in Middletown, but is based in New London, Conn., was named National Prime Contractor of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
